  • BUILDING BLOCKS Early Years Program

    Our Early Years program ‘BUILDING BLOCKS’ is an educational, play-based program and is organized around four foundational conditions that are important for children to grow and flourish: Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression. Building Blocks is offered as a free service to parents who are participants in our Foundations Language Program.

  • BABY'S BEST BRAIN Parenting Program

    The Baby’s Best Brain program is offered in one on one or small group sessions. This program focuses on science-based and proven techniques that equip parents with tools to increase their learning and nurture their baby’s brain.

    This program is offered onsite as well as through client home visits which can be arranged by contacting us at info@feelslikehomenewcomers.ca

  • FOUNDATIONS English Language Program

    FOUNDATIONS Language Program offers newcomers:

    o Beginner English instruction

    o Practical and relevant information sessions and hands-on workshops

    o Introduction to community services available for newcomers

    o Digital Literacy instruction

    o Opportunities to meet and socialize with other newcomers within the context of a trauma-informed practice.

    The Foundations Language Program follows best practices for Literacy instruction and as such provides in-class translation to support our main language groups.

  • SHELTER Food Security and Outreach Program

    Learning how to navigate systems in a new community can be challenging. How can we help? Partnering together with local food rescue organizations such as Second Harvest and local churches, as well as local farms who provide our clients with abundant fresh, organic vegetable bags, we can deliver customized and culturally appropriate grocery items for your family on a case by case basis.

  • United Way SCHOOL'S OUT Program

    The United Way School’s Out program in partnership with the Surrey School District provides children ages 6-12 a secure environment to learn and grow during the critical afterschool hours. The program takes a holistic approach that inspires overall well-being, leadership development and social-emotional abilities. Children will build positive friendships, leadership traits, and participate in community involvement through daily activities, organized outings, and interactions with program mentors.

    This critical program is funded primarily through the generosity of The United Way of BC and in partnership with the Surrey School District.
